A fond farwell

I would like to take this time to thank the community of Butte, and all of the wonderful people I have met here, for an awe-inspiring VISTA year! I have learned so much and will take away many things from this year, most importantly that Butte America is the place to be and all of it's residents are lucky to live in such a beautiful place!

Many thanks!

Spring Swing

Resting after the beautiful day of golfing!

Poker Run ladies on the 10th hole watching the guys warm up.
"So this is what golf is about", a great quote from a poker run lady after watching the team mates interact.
It was his birthday and he was playing golf with his wife and 2 other ladies...great gift?

The 3rd Annual Spring Swing Golf Tournament benefiting Suited for Success went off without a hitch Saturday June 13 at Fairmont Hot Springs. This year's event saw additions like a poker run, and a live auction. Thank you to all those who golfed, played in the poker run, and helped make this day the amazing success that it was, and has been in the past years!

Take Back The Night

This year's TBTN was amazing. Chief Executive Paul Babb, Officer Dan Murphy from the Butte Police Department, Rose Brock with TAPS (Taking Action through Peaceful Solutions), and Danielle Wozniak from U of M in Missoula all spoke. Some very great and powerful stories were shared at the speak out against domestic violence and sexual assault, and the Clothesline Project seemed to be a powerful reminder of the violence that is seen in Butte, MT.

Hopefully you had a chance to stop by and enjoy all that this year's event had to offer!

Safe Space would like to thank the amazing staff, volunteers, and community members who continually make this event spectacular. Another huge thank you must be given to all those community organizations that assist in making Take Back The Night amazing also, those include all who put TBTN posters up in their stores, or on their marquees, to donating products and services for advertising and prizes! Butte is an amazing place with amazing people!

Please make sure to look at the pictures and videos from the night. More will hopefully be posted soon!

Also, Bridget and I are going to be doing a contest at the local high school to go along with our Take Back the Night theme, which is "We are all in this together!" Take Back the Night will take place on April 24, 2009 starting at the Butte Silver Bow Court House at 5pm. More details on this to follow!
